Singaporeans spend so much time rushing here and there, living hectic lives. Sometimes, with everything that's happening, you neglect your own safety, and, in this case, you get put to sleep by a higher power. If you watched the recent Mortal Kombat movie, the way the jaywalker flew reminds me of this scene. But I digress. Let's get right into the video. It's a sunny (風和日麗) afternoon along a 2-lane road. The right lane is congested. The cam car navigates his way to the left lane (I would too to escape waiting). The cam car speeds up on the empty left lane and "Mr Ronaldo" (I'm going to call the jaywalker Mr Ronaldo) dashes out of nowhere into the path of the cam car. "Mr Ronaldo" 👇 BAM! Ouch! What an impact. It looks painful, doesn't it? The impact is so strong that it even sends him flying and flipping before crumpling to an unconscious heap on the road. The driver does not look like it's going extremely fast as he just started picking up speed not too long before Mr Ronaldo jumped in. Think of Mr Ronaldo like a tennis ball and the cam car as a tennis racket. That's rebounding at the maximum velocity right there. Here's the full video. TL;DR – A Mitsubishi Lancer and a Volkswagen Scirocco were caught on camera speeding along the CTE and overtaking other vehicles using the road shoulder. Unfortunately for one of the two idiots, one of them hit a BMW X3 in the process and went full turtle, causing a 2-hour long jam in its wake. TL:DR – SMRT taxi abruptly stops on lane 1 of an expressway for reasons unknown and causes a massive chain collision in its wake before driving off, oblivious to the destruction it caused behind. There are idiot drivers everywhere Our latest example drives a SMRT taxi. Watch the video below to find out why. Here’s the rear-view camera footage The SMRT taxi abruptly stops just before an ERP gantry on lane 1. The alert cam car driver comes to a complete stop as well. One or two cars manage to avoid crashing into cam car by quickly changing to lane 2 before the chain collision occurs. Only Asian cars involved Besides the cam car (which I cannot identify), there’s a Mazda 3. A Toyota Altis. Or what looks like a Toyota Altis. (It became a hatchback after the crash). And of course, the unsuspecting Honda Fit (poor fella) that crashed into the Altis, causing the chain collision. Maybe the taxi driver didn't notice what was happening behind him? He's still an idiot driver though. I needed to translate because my Chinese sucks. Yeah, this is the most likely scenario. If I’m not wrong, he’ll be claiming from the Mazda 3 driver and the Mazda 3 driver will claim from the Toyota Altis. Then the Altis will claim from the Honda Fit. But, what about the main culprit of this incident? TL;DR = A Nissan NV200 speeds on the wet road, loses control, hits the side railings and overturns on the CTE The speed limit for goods vehicles on expressways is 70km/h. There’s no way that this van was adhering to said speed limit. Watch the minute-and-a-half-long video to see what I mean: What happened At about 0.02, you can see that the van swerves to avoid a car in front of it. Doing so sends the van out of control on the wet road (it’s raining, by the way). It then proceeds to hit the side railings before overturning dramatically on the CTE. A recipe for disaster I have no idea what the driver was thinking. It was raining, and the ground was wet. Visibility could not have been that great. The speed limit for goods vehicles is 70km/h. All the conditions listed above perfectly line up; just waiting for an accident to happen. And true enough, it did! Online Chatter This commenter has a point. A motorcyclist overtakes cam car and accelerates ahead only to go head-to-head with a Toyota Vios attempting to make a right turn at the junction. Use your brain If there’s another vehicle obstructing your view, inch forward to see if there’s any oncoming traffic like normal people maybe? Who in the world ‘cheongs’ without looking? TL;DR – A Subaru Legacy recklessly speeds through morning traffic and weaves through tight pockets of space between cars. Ends up side swiping a Toyota Wish causing a jam on the PIE during morning rush hour. It’s 8am and you’re on the way to work. The morning traffic is not too bad and you look like you’ll make it to the office with little to no hiccups. But, life is funny and loves to throw you a curve ball every now and then. In this case, it’s in the form of a Subaru Legacy with a driver that has shit for brains. Watch the viral video here: Crazy driver This minute and a half (ish) video starts by throwing us straight into the action. A Subaru Legacy with a roof pod comes charging in from the left side of the cam car and can be seen aggressively switching lanes. It then hits a car, loses control and comes to a halt at lane 1. Is there a profile for roof pods? I don’t know about you readers but most of my friends who are considering to install roof pods or already have roof pods installed are married men with kids. Roof pods can give your car an additional 300 to 600 litres of cargo space - Which is space you’ll need especially if you have children. And as you can see from a quick search on Google, some of them don’t come cheap. Really hope the driver’s children were not in the car though. Sway la, the Wish An image of the damage to the Wish was also uploaded along with the video. I’m pretty sure it was more than the Wish but the video footage of impact is quite blur and it happened really quickly. There seems to be another stationary car on lane 1 (besides the idiot) that was affected by this incident. Online Chatter Somehow the PIE happens to be prone to traffic jams for some reason. TL:DR – An impatient lorry driver tries to beat the red light at a cross junction but ends up t-boning and wrecking a Mercedes instead. A horrific accident happened earlier today (9th Feb) at 2.23pm at Choa Chu Kang. It could have all been avoided if the lorry driver had shown some patience. Here’s the video: Rekt Not going to go into too many details, but the lorry certainly did a number on the Mercedes. If it were a lighter car, like a Honda Fit for example, it would have been flung down the bridge. How’s the driver? There are no updates about the driver or the occupants of the Mercedes, but we hope everyone’s okay. Patience please? Is it too hard to ask people to have some patience when they drive? Fierce Jaguar F-PACE runs away like a scaredy cat after hitting camcar

A white Jaguar F-PACE miscalculates camcar's actions and switches lanes too early, resulting in an unexpected hit-and-run. The video starts with the camcar and several other vehicles patiently waiting for the green light at the junction between Bukit Timah and Kheam Hock Road. Upon the appearance of the green light, all cars start to move off, with the Honda Jazz in front of the camcar making a right turn. It is at this moment that the white Jaguar F-PACE decides to filter to the right lane, as the driver assumes that the camcar would be making a right turn as well instead of going straight ahead. This results in a pretty nasty hit between both vehicles. Unlike the fierceness of the vehicle's name, the Jaguar driver immediately increases his speed and runs away after the hit. Do you see the resemblance? The location of the accident While most would agree that the Jaguar F-PACE was being too 'kan chiong' in his judgement, some questioned if the camcar was in a right-turn only lane. Upon further research, here is a quick screengrab of the location. According to the video, the camcar was in Lane 1, which is a lane where vehicles can turn right or go straight ahead, while the Jaguar was in the middle lane. Netizens' reactions It's so sad that this is the reality when it comes to dealing with rich and arrogant drivers. 😞 Oof, if only the Jaguar driver would have thought to slow down and check his mirrors before filtering. TBH, it is easy to prevent an accident like this from happening if the Jaguar driver is alert and did the proper checks before switching lanes. However, the way he ran off afterwards is simply a cowardly action - it's not like he does not have the money to settle the damages (judging from his vehicle). Only someone as carefree as this cyclist would care about his plastic bags after getting hit by a motorcycle. The video starts with the cam car slowing down at a junction in Jurong West. As his car comes to a stop, he notices a cyclist ignoring the red-light signal and crossing the junction. At the same time, a motorcyclist enters from the right at a high speed. Unable to stop his bike or swerve to avoid him, the motorcyclist knocks over the cyclist and falls to the ground. Unfazed by the accident, the cyclist immediately rises and gathers the grocery bags that had fallen off his bicycle. The motorcyclist gets up soon after and dusts himself off. Weirdly enough, the cyclist's reaction to this accident reminds me of this gif of Jimmy Fallon. I don’t know if I should be shocked or relieved. On the one hand, I'm glad that both parties are not severely hurt, but on the other, what exactly is the cyclist thinking? No matter how empty a road might seem, it is never a good decision to run a red-light signal and assume that the road will stay clear for you. Netizens’ reactions I agree! If you’re familiar with the bonus stages in Street Fighter 2, you’ll remember whacking the crap out of a car to get additional points for a high score. We have a Singapore version But unlike Ryu and Ken, this guy uses a motorcycle helmet on a taxi. Here’s the video. The incident happened at Keat Hong Close, Bukit Batok, Singapore. And another angle Why so triggered Based on the video, it’s unclear why the 90s Ah Beng look alike got so heated up. He walks around the taxi yelling profanities and smashing his helmet all over even though there was a child on board. What are the damages? Broken mirror. Make that two mirrors Broken rear window. How much force does one need to use to cause this? And of course, multiple dents and knocks all over the taxi. Police brought in In the video, a male passenger can be heard talking to the authorities on the phone. Inexperienced Mazda 3 driver shows us why we die die must have car insurance

Another day, another joker on the road getting what he deserves for his reckless driving. What happened In the wee hours of the morning, a Mazda 3 driver is seen driving down Admiralty Road right beside a large garbage truck. Wanting to filter to his right, the car flashes its right indicator lights to signal its intention. This is when things start to go horribly wrong. Instead of letting the truck pass, the Mazda driver fails to check for safety and starts to drift to the right. The weird thing about his behaviour is that he actually slows down right in front of the large truck as his vehicle performs the lane change. As a result, the car ends up getting hit in the rear by the garbage truck and continues along the road for a while before coming to a stop. It is unclear if the Mazda driver had hit the brakes on purpose or by accident. Additionally, the fact that the Mazda kept going after getting hit could mean that the driver did not realise that he had been hit. A great example of why all drivers die die must have insurance It is important to note that the Mazda 3 driver carries a P plate, which is a probationary license plate that should be put on display at the top-right portion of the front and back windscreens of new drivers. Not too sure what's the context of the video below but it's been circulating in car groups and WhatsApp chats since this morning. Asking for it In this short 20-second clip, a wrecked car with a popped-up bonnet ran headfirst into the rear of a stationary Honda Civic. According to online sources, this incident occurred at Midview City. Considering the number of repair shops located there, online chatter suggests that a workshop personnel was behind the wheel of that wrecked vehicle. Moments of convenience, hundreds (or thousands) of dollars in claims The real question here - Is it even legal to drive this wrecked car around at all? Although it may be a short distance to a nearby workshop within Midview City's compound, the car's condition suggests that it would have been unwise to drive it. Given its current state, it should be towed to the workshop directly. See lah, kay kiang drive this damaged car around, now kena accident. Some people might say that the Honda Civic should have parked his car at a proper parking lot instead of alongside the road. However, it may be ridiculous to attribute any fault to the Honda Civic for this silly accident. Regardless, I hope the Honda Civic's owner can claim for the damages. Within the past 24 hours, two unrelated cases of vehicles knocking over cyclists have surfaced on Facebook. The only thing constant in the equation? Both cyclists disregarded the red man and cycled across the road anyway. Both incidents took place yesterday (July 5), with the first one being at Choa Chu Kang and the second one at Sembawang. In the first video, a female driver was driving straight ahead across a road junction along Choa Chu Kang Dr after noticing that the light had turned green. However, she noticed that a cyclist had dashed out as she was accelerating, which led to her hitting the cyclist. Take note: there is loud screaming and graphic content in the following videos. In the second video, a taxi was seen performing a right turn at a road junction in between Sembawang and Mandai Road when it hits a cyclist that was crossing the road at a red light. Despite the roads being busy in both videos, the cyclists thought that they were able to beat the red light and just YOLO-ed their way through. Honestly, if I were them, I would be in constant "ragret" over this one stupid decision. As for the taxi driver (in the second video), many netizens shared their frustrations with the cyclist for not following the rules. Earlier this week (Jul 7), a white McLaren 720S was spotted crashed into a row of plants along East Coast Parkway (ECP). Here's new video footage of the crash that just surfaced, via the perspective of a cam car witness: Driver lost control while trying to overtake The video footage here shows the white sports car which skidded from lane 3 to lane 1 while trying to overtake from the left side of the cam car. Close shave with Cam Car The cam car was fortunate enough to drive away unscathed, as the cam car driver was just a few meters behind when the McLaren skidded and crashed. The million-dollar sports car was visibly damaged after it crashed into the potted plants alongside the road divider. Driver has been taken to hospital The driver has been reportedly been taken to Raffles Hospital after the crash. We're still awaiting updates about the status of the driver. On Monday (May 31) at around 4:25 p.m., a 14-year-old male cyclist met with a fatal accident with a Malaysian-registered trailer along Marina East Drive. According to the CNA article, the cyclist was pronounced dead at the scene by paramedics. He had been riding a fixie bike, also known as a fixed-gear bike or a brakeless bicycle, which meant that the bicycle did not have any brakes. The Ministry of Transport announced the ban of such bicycles on public paths and roads in January this year. The 37-year-old trailer driver has been arrested for careless driving causing death. The photographs of the accident site posted onto SG Road Vigilante's Facebook shows the mangled bicycle torn into pieces. A screenshot of the trailer driver's outstanding traffic police fines was also posted on Facebook, showing that he had an unpaid amount of $600 from 2019. We offer our deepest condolences to the cyclist's family and hope that both drivers and cyclists will take more caution while on the road.

The whole island was hit with a heavy rainstorm yesterday, with some experiencing more than just a heavy downpour. From this minute-long video, it seems that a Ferrari 458 was caught speeding down East Coast Road in 'not-safe-for-speeding' weather. The driver subsequently loses control of the vehicle as he attempts to accelerate, swerving left and right across three lanes before hitting an SBS bus and losing its rear bumper. Ouch! Netizens' reactions to the incident: This video ticked off a lot of netizens as they expressed their contempt for the Ferrari driver's dangerous decision: Although the Ferrari did not cause any major harm to other drivers on the road, it is crucial for drivers on the road to remember to slow down and be extra cautious as Singapore enters its next monsoon season in June. Driver looking for Jaguar F-PACE to privately settle damage costs

To the owner of this black Jaguar F-PACE, someone is desperately looking for you. Earlier today, a video was posted online showing a cam car driver bumping into the back of a black Jaguar F-PACE in the KPE tunnel on 19th May. The owner of the cam car is currently reaching out on social media platforms to locate the Jaguar driver to privately settle the damages. Both vehicles were driving on Lane 2 when they noticed that the lane was closed further ahead due to another road accident. The Jaguar driver signalled right to filter to the extreme right lane but was unable to fully enter the lane. As a result, the cam car driver couldn't stop in time and ended up hitting the back of the vehicle. Due to the heavy traffic conditions at that time, the cam car driver signalled the Jaguar driver to meet further down the tunnel to settle the insurance claims for the incident. However, as he continued driving in Lane 2 and stopped further in front, he was unable to find the Jaguar driver (who was supposed to appear from his right). As such, the cam car driver had to take the Lorong Halus exit out of the KPE and continued to his destination. According to the cam car driver, he filed a police report that day and he is willing to pay the Jaguar driver for the damages that he caused. Instead of slowing down, the vehicle unexpectedly spun out of control and ended up facing against traffic. And if that wasn't scary enough, things nearly went south for both the motorcyclist and the dash-cam driver as the lorry stops abruptly. They managed to stop their vehicles just in time to avoid a one-way ticket to heaven. It was speculated that the driver was speeding with balding or worn-out tyres – something that should have been checked and fixed by the driver or the company before the vehicle hits the open road. How do I know if my tyres are worn out? According to this guide, it shows how vehicle tyres would look like under certain conditions, of which all of them would increase tyre wear faster than normal. Although I’m unsure if the lorry’s tyres were misaligned or wrongly inflated, it is always important for drivers to inspect their tyre pressure and threads once every few weeks on top of the mandatory yearly check. Fierce Beyblade battle occurs on fast lane between Toyota Prius and Toyota Dyna

Good morning everyone! Singapore may be small, but we are never short of exciting incidents. Let's take this battle between a Toyota Prius and a Toyota Dyna for example. Resembles a Beyblade* battle to be honest (minus the spinning). *Beyblade is a Japanese anime about spinning top toy battles If you watch the video, you'll notice that the Prius was not on the first lane initially because there were two large trucks obstructing traffic. The Prius obviously did not want to give way to the lorry and charged forward. A normal person would hit the brakes upon impact, but not this Prius. The lorry and the Prius continue scratching each other's paintwork for at least a good three to four seconds! What was the lorry doing though? Crazy driving by the Prius aside, the lorry, being a goods and commercial vehicle with a speed limit of 70km/hr should not be on the fast lane. So, what happens when it comes to insurance claims? He's cycling on a footpath when he should be on the road 2. He does not check his blind spot 3. He makes a 'lane change' to the road with total disregard to traffic This incident happens along Mandai Road, near the Mandai Crematorium (which is where he would have gone if he had been run down). What's worse, from the cam car's footage, it looks like it might have hit the KIA Niro in front that had to do an emergency brake (the recording cuts off before any impact, so I can only speculate).
